Answering The Call of Ministry

Being in ministry to many can look like all glitz, and glamour but answering the call on your life takes a lot of courage. You must know without a shadow of a doubt that God has called you to do his bidding. You must also know that heaven is your home and great is your reward.

There are a lot of things that you face once you sincerely sell out to God. That is , ministry (101) you have just enlisted in a spiritual war, and therefore you will no longer live the ordinary hum drum life that you used to live; your life will now be filled with adversity, and warfare because you have become light that is piercing the darkness. Also, to your surprise, you will find out that much of the warfare you experience will come from those (wolves) among the brethren who pose as sheep.

However, don’t take it personal because its not their flesh and blood that you wrestle with, its the spirits that operate in them. All too often Satan causes the children of God to walk in offence because of what one of the so-called brethren has or has not done.

The next thing you need to understand is, there will be few true- soldiers on the battlefield with you . At times, you may feel all alone, but God said he would be with you in battle. (2Chronicles 20:17)…” You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD gives you, Judah and Jerusalem.”  Also, because we are flesh, it is natural for each of us to want someone to lean on, but God wants us to totally trust him.  In addition, no matter how loyal of a friend or spouse you think you may have, at some point they will fail you! The only person who will never fail you is Christ. So don’t put anyone on a pedestal but Christ!

Likewise, when you die, you will be alone, as well as when you face the judgement . The only person that will give an account for your deeds is you(2 Corinthians 5:10).

More importantly, you must understand that you can’t please both God and man; so when you speak truth from the word of God many will be offended.

Therefore in closing, to cut down on the wounds, and scars that you may acquire while on the battlefield , be sure to wear the full armor of God daily and count the cost for your answer to the call of ministry!
